Per National Association of REALTOR® guidelines, secondary membership describes REALTORS® who hold membership in an association in addition to their primary association. The main distinction between primary and secondary membership is that the dues collected in the member’s primary association include the NAR and IR portion of dues. MLS services for secondary members are provided by the primary association, and secondary members pay only local dues for their secondary membership.
Licensees who already have a primary association may join any other association as a secondary member without the Designated REALTOR® having to hold membership.
Initiation fees are waived for new secondary members; however, new offices/Designated REALTORS® are assessed an initiation fee.
To become a secondary Oak Park Association of REALTORS® member, please complete and submit the appropriate member application. When completing the application, include “Secondary” next to your name.
